High Tea at the Lady Daly

Today my friends and I headed out to the Lady Daly Hotel on Port Rd.  I had purchased a Scoopon for their High Tea which really caught my eye due to having some very interesting choices in food and their very generous bottomless cup policy for not only their teas but chai lattes, Monjava coffees and sparkling white wine.

Their high tea is available every day, starting from 2pm and going until 4pm.  There was only one lady waiting on tables that afternoon and although there were already a few other parties there, she was very attentive and we were greeted with a bottle of bubbly.

Top Tier - Irish cream, turkish delight, coffee, pistachio, almond and lime profiteroles.  Chocolate squares with strawberries and cream.
Bottom Tier - Scones with jam and cream, Portuguese custard tarts, mini quiches and finger sandwiches.

Other than their awesome bottomless-cup offer, the other main highlight for me was their flavour selection of profiteroles.  After fighting with my friend over who would get the turkish delight one, our waitress so kindly brought an extra four to our table, for us each to try!  I also sampled the pistachio and irish cream varieties, both amazing!

While the food itself was not groundbreaking, it was indeed a very pleasant experience, heightened by the amazing service and the cosy, comfortable environment.  It isn't on my list of 'fancy' high teas, which is definitely not a bad thing, as there was nothing I wanted more than an endless supply of chai lattes, a comfy chair and a warm fire on the cold drizzly day we had today!
